It was high time I checked off another item on my Surround Myself with Beautiful Things in 2024 list.
Easily one of the top ten best art museum experiences I can recall, despite its residence in one of my least favorite states in the U.S., the Cleveland Museum of Art is a gorgeous building with a charming collection and well-crafted gallery designs. Each room has a story to tell — not to mention more Asian art than I’ve seen since visiting the Met (the Japanese collection alone numbers in the thousands).
I was also enchanted by their reservations-required lunch spot, the Provenance, where I indulged in a mouth-watering salmon benedict and a divine little blueberry-themed cocktail while enjoying a gorgeous view of the museum district.
Hard to believe this was tucked away in the middle of Cleveland, Ohio. I love it all the more for that fact.
Five stars – highly recommend.
