Staircase! (Rome, Italy)

Anyone who has watched a film with me in the last year has been plagued with hearing this phrase come out of my mouth (thereby breaking the code of proper movie watching – but do you really need to follow the code from the comfort of your couch – topic for later post). My point is, they truly do make a fun subject. So while other tourists faced the opposite direction to shoot some statue or other, there I was yet again, pointing at the wrong thing. At least I had an unobstructed view.

  1. It’s always a good idea to look all around. I once drove past a group of people pulled over on the side of the road, all standing by their cars with cameras and binoculars, staring across a field. They were clearly looking for moose – when you live in/visit Nova Scotia, seeing a moose is a bucket list thing – and they were all so focused in the same direction, not one of them saw the moose step out of the trees across the road behind them.
